Prolonging the inevitable?
Another defeat in this crazy rollercoaster season.
My previous article for the All Things Red Substack Newsletter touched on Arne Slot’s nice guy persona, which may be contributing to the players’ lack of cutting edge on the field.
Saturday’s defeat at Brighton was another example of the absence of any pace or desire to grab hold of the game and push to win. It’s become the norm to watch them going through their paces and, more often than not, getting caught out by the opposition.
We could blame losing Alisson and Mo, then Hugo limping off with a dead leg vafter only eight minutes, then being replaced with a central midfielder. Did Arne want to win this game or cling onto a goalless draw for the remaining 82 minutes?
