Liverpool’s season appears to be crumbling around them. Knocked out of the FA Cup, dealt a massive blow in the Premier League then dumped out of the Europa League this week.
It’s not looking great. The lads look exhausted and the manager looks deflated. I’m reminded of the 1985/86 season, when Man Utd were miles clear in November, then bottled it in the last couple of months. ‘Fourth in a two-horse race’ was the taunt at the time.
While Aston Villa are eight points adrift with six games left, one of them is against Liverpool and in the form the Reds currently are, I can see them pipping us for third.
That is a more likely scenario than Liverpool catching Man City at the top, despite Jurgen Klopp’s positivity in his pre-Fulham presser.
Champions League qualification should be secure though 🤞
Onto Fulham…
Jurgen Klopp's men are unbeaten in their past five Premier League games at Craven Cottage, winning three and drawing two.
Fulham have won only once in 13 previous meetings with the Reds in all competitions, drawing three and losing nine.
